Senior scientist Dr. Manoj Kumar says that now the whole world is demanding Makhana from Mithila region. 90 percent of the country’s Makhana production takes place in Mithilanchal region. The farmers and entrepreneurs here have a golden opportunity to deliver their crops across the world. He told that Makhana is available for Rs 600 to 700 per kg in the local market. This Makhana goes abroad and its price goes up to Rs 3 thousand. Farmers can increase their profit margin here. The government is also continuously helping the farmers.
